McCandless Project

My experiment was to not talk for the whole day. It as pretty hard not to say anything that I wanted to say. People were confused why I wasn't talking to them but they eventually got used to it and ignored me. It is very lonely just to be in my thoughts. I felt like no one liked me but then I remembered that it was just an experiment, not the real world. While in my head though, I did start thinking about how bullied kids must feel. I probably felt close to that, alone and not very happy. I wasn't very surprised by my friends reactions though, they acted like normal teen boys. They said things like,"If you don't say anything, you are stupid!" I did't say anything of course so they yelled,"YOU ARE STUPID!!!!" and fell over themselves laughing. I just rolled my eyes and thought that I am friends with a bunch of morons. I don't think you have to abide to all of laws if you don't want to. I guess you could say we are "free" but, we have to follow some laws. We don't however, have to follow the social norm if we don't want to because Chris didn't and he was fine until the Alaska trip. I did do what Chris did sometimes which is go into my thoughts and not talk to anyone for hours and hours. Based on the newest chapters, it seems like he did that quite often. My final thought is that people should never follow the norm because that shows that you don't want to stand out. You should always be yourself, no matter what.

My quotation blog post

My quotation:
“It is better, I think, to grab at the stars than to sit flustered because you know you cannot reach them.”
― R.A. SalvatoreSojourn

I chose this quotation because R.A. Salvatore is one of my favorite authors and there are some really good passages in his books, like this quotation above. This quotation  represents me because I like to try to do my best than sit there thinking about I can't do something. I also am trying to not let obstacles stop me from doing something, because then I would be thinking about how I can't do something again. If I lived every moment of my day like this, I would be a very accomplished 100% A student that has all of my volunteer hours done. I would probably be very popular and have many career opportunities because I would grab at every possible chance to do something great, and even if I fail sometimes, I would still have accomplished a lot. It would be a very interesting life style indeed.
